Dr. Professor Atheer Kazem Abadi, the Dean of the Technical Institute/Kufa, participated in a specialized ministerial workshop held at Al-Mustaqbal University to promote research excellence in partnership with Clarivate

Enhancing Research Excellence Iraq: Practical Insights into Web of Science & Journal Citation Reports
The workshop witnessed wide participation from representatives of both public and private universities across the provinces of Najaf, Karbala, and Babylon
This event is part of the collaborative efforts between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Clarivate, a global leader in scientific research
The primary goal of the workshop was to equip participants with the necessary skills to identify and effectively use reliable global scientific research tools for analyzing and evaluating scientific information
Additionally, the workshop focused on important practical applications, including the use of the Web of Science platform: how to search, analyze, and evaluate scientific publications using this recognized global platform
It also covered the use of Journal Citation Reports (JCR) to leverage these reports as a roadmap for identifying reputable and high-quality scientific journals while avoiding publication in unreliable “predatory” journals
Furthermore, the workshop supported research strategies by showcasing practical applications on how these tools can enhance scientific publishing strategies, foster international collaboration, and increase the global impact of Iraqi scientific research
The participation of the Dean’s office in such specialized workshops reflects its strong commitment to implementing ministerial directives to support the quality of scientific research and elevate it to meet international standards for rigor and publication
