Overview of the Department

The Department of Pharmaceutical Technologies at the Technical Institute of Kufa, Middle Euphrates Technical University, has been distinguished in graduating qualified and exceptional pharmaceutical technicians since its establishment in the academic year 1987-1988. Graduates receive a technical diploma in Pharmaceutical Technologies, along with the job title “Pharmacy Assistant,” which qualifies them to work in healthcare institutions under the supervision of the responsible pharmacist. Graduates of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technologies possess the ability and skill to handle medications and medical supplies, administer medications to patients under the supervision of the responsible pharmacist, and maintain daily and monthly records for managing medications and medical supplies.

Additionally, 10% of graduates are accepted into pharmacy colleges, which confirms the quality of education and training provided in the Department of Pharmaceutical Technologies. The department aligns with the goals of sustainable development, aiming to:

  • Improve the public health of the community by providing exceptional pharmaceutical services.
  • Enhance human development by providing job opportunities and training for pharmaceutical projects.
  • Protect the environment by implementing sustainable pharmaceutical practices.
  • Strengthen partnerships with the health and industrial sectors to achieve sustainable development.

The department also aims to obtain program accreditation in order to:

  • Enhance confidence in the department’s programs.
