The Dean of the Technical Institute/Kufa, Professor Dr. Atheer Kadhim Abbadi, along with the Associate Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Assistant Professor Kadhim Khayoun, and a number of the institute’s staff, participated in the mourning vigil organized by the presidency of the Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University.
Under the slogan
(Speicher Massacre… a wound that never heals)
In remembrance of the souls of the martyrs, and in affirmation of consolidating national memory and rejecting terrorism.
The vigil opened with a recitation from the Holy Quran and the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah in mercy upon the souls of the victims.
The president of the university, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, delivered a speech in which he emphasized that the Speicher Massacre is a crime against humanity that is not subject to the statute of limitations. He recalled the magnitude of the tragedy revealed by the data of the victims, which extended to various governorates of Iraq, particularly the governorates of the Middle Euphrates. He affirmed that loyalty to the martyrs requires establishing justice, holding the perpetrators accountable, and immortalizing the memory of the martyrs.
For his part, the dean affirmed that this participation came to evoke the bitterness of that catastrophe, which will remain a lump in the throats of Iraqis. His Excellency expressed his deep condolences to the bereaved families of the martyrs, affirming that the blood of those innocent young men will remain a bleeding wound in the conscience of humanity that time cannot erase.
May God Almighty have mercy on our righteous martyrs with His vast mercy; grant them abode in His spacious paradises; and bestow upon our beloved Iraq security, safety, and lasting stability.
