In order to consolidate a culture of long-term institutional planning, the committee assigned to draft the five-year strategic plan for the Technical Institute / Kufa (2027–2031) held its first meeting, chaired by the Dean, Professor Dr. Athir Kazem Abadi, and attended by all committee members.
The Dean opened the meeting by welcoming those present, emphasizing the critical importance of this plan as a key foundation for supporting development processes and continuous improvement, as well as keeping pace with educational transformations and academic accreditation requirements.
The meeting included discussions on work mechanisms, the distribution of roles and responsibilities among members, the establishment of a timeline and stages for drafting the plan, and consideration of methods for collecting accurate and objective data. The institute’s current vision, mission, and objectives were also reviewed, with emphasis on conducting a comprehensive environmental analysis to identify internal strengths and weaknesses, as well as external opportunities and threats facing the educational and administrative process.
The committee also reviewed the main strategic pillars upon which the plan will be built, integrating and discussing institutional strategy requirements, governance and administration, financial and material resources, activation of the role of faculty members and students, development of curricula and scientific research, and ultimately strengthening community service initiatives.
The meeting concluded by setting deadlines for submitting preliminary reports and following up on the implementation of these pillars, in preparation for presenting a comprehensive report in the next meeting to ensure continued progress in completing this promising academic project
