As part of the continuation of practical and applied student activities, the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Technology at the Technical Institute / Kufa organized a scientific visit to Al-Warith Dermal Center, affiliated with the General Secretariat of the Holy Hussainiyah Shrine.
Second-year students from both morning and evening studies were accompanied by Assist. Prof. Dr. Mohannad Hamza Hussein, Head of the Department, along with a number of faculty members.
The visit aimed to familiarize students with the latest developments in smart prosthetic technology.
Dr. Yasser Subaih Al-Saadi, Director of the Center, welcomed the delegation and the students, explaining the center’s working system and its various departments. He also pledged to provide free training opportunities for the department’s students during the summer break.
It is worth mentioning that the assistant director of the center, Engineer Haider, is a person with a disability. He sustained a lower-limb amputation due to an explosive device, and he uses a smart prosthetic limb that enables him to move and walk with ease, thanks to its lightweight design and advanced features, which he explained to the students.
The students showed a high level of engagement and responsiveness during the visit and the information presented.
On his part, the head of the department expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the center’s administration for their warm reception and continuous support to the students, wishing them continued success and progress.
