The Department of Medical Laboratory Technologies at the Technical Institute / Kufa, in cooperation with the volunteer team Paramedics of the Nation for Training and Human Resource Development, organized an awareness workshop on first aid.
Under the slogan:
“In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful – ‘And whoever saves one life, it is as if he had saved all mankind’ – Almighty Allah has spoken the truth.”
The workshop lasted for three weeks. The first week was dedicated to the Basic Life Support (BLS) program, while the second week focused on the First Aid (FA) program. The third week covered patient transportation techniques.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness among various groups, including staff and students, about the importance of first aid and the necessity of having a trained responder in every household, as it may save lives—especially in situations where no specialized medical personnel are available at the scene.
The workshop also introduced participants to different types of emergencies and the fundamental procedures of first aid, in addition to urgent interventions such as dealing with heat stroke, electrical shock, poisoning, and severe injuries.
