📝 About the Department

The Medical Laboratory Techniques Department was established in 1984 – 1985. It is one of the distinguished departments concerned with diagnosing diseases and identifying antibiotics, playing a pivotal role in advancing science and serving the community. The department includes laboratories equipped with the latest scientific devices in the specialties of Microbiology, Parasitology, Clinical Chemistry, Immunology, and Serology. The department seeks to keep pace with modern scientific developments and open channels of cooperation and training with specialized research and medical institutions. Evening studies are also available in the department.

🎯 Vision, Mission and Goals

Equipping graduates with the necessary knowledge and experience in laboratory work fields, including isolation and diagnosis of bacteria in clinical samples, preparation of tissue slides for various body organs, and qualifying them to be a positive influence in the public and private health sectors.

Achieving excellence in education, acquiring scientific skills, and implementing training programs and research activities to enhance the ability to diagnose diseases and develop preventive and curative health services for all members of society.

  • Graduating technical staff with high skills capable of performing routine analyses and general chemical examinations.
  • Examining various body fluids such as cerebrospinal fluid, sputum, and semen.
  • Conducting scientific research, contributing to raising the level of health education, and cooperating with organizations to meet therapeutic needs.
  • Isolation and diagnosis of microbes in clinical samples, preparing culture media, and testing food contaminants.
  • Preparing laboratory solutions, operating and maintaining equipment used in pathological analysis.
  • Receiving samples, drawing blood, and delivering laboratory test results.
  • The graduate works within the medical progression system in hospitals and health centers.
