The Electrical Technique Department at the Technical Institute of Kufa organized a scientific visit to the Al-Haideria Gas Power Station.
This visit is part of the curriculum for the Maintenance of Power Stations course for second-year students. The department staff and students were welcomed by the station manager, Engineer Muqdad Rashid Hamid, Engineer Haidar Ahmed Hamid, the head of the Occupational Safety Department, and Engineer Mohammed Abdul Ali Sahib, the head of the Electrical Department.
The visit itinerary included a detailed presentation by the head of the Occupational Safety Department on the main components of the gas power station, the auxiliary systems, how they operate, and the amount of energy produced by each unit of the station’s components.
Furthermore, the head of the Electricity Department at the station provided an extensive explanation of the electrical system components, which included the transformation station, electrical panels, as well as measurement, control, and monitoring devices.
In turn, the head of the Electrical Engineering Department at the institute, Assistant Professor Hashem Dhahir Muhammad, expressed his profound gratitude and appreciation to the station manager, the heads of the Occupational Safety and Electrical Departments, and the station staff for their warm welcome and the valuable information shared during the visit.
