With wide international and Arab participation, “Artificial Intelligence in Nursing” prominently featured at the closing of the Fifth International Scientific Conference on Medical and Biological Technologies at the Technical Institute in Kufa, part of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University.
The conference concluded successfully and distinguished itself with the presence of high-level academic attendees and quality research contributions, producing a series of strategic recommendations aimed at serving healthcare and societal realities.
The final day began with a high-quality scientific lecture via Google Meet, presented by the third keynote speaker, Dr. Muhammad Arshad. He reviewed the effects of the compound Teapolyphenol Epigallocatechin-3 Gallate extracted from tea and its vital role in influencing the growth and formation of biofilms and the microstructure of oral Candida isolates, opening new horizons in biological treatments.

Moderated by Assoc. Prof. Riyadh Saad Atshan Al Ghafagy, a faculty member in the Nursing Techniques Department at the Technical Institute in Kufa.
The session was distinguished by the participation of a high-level academic from Alexandria University via Google Meet. The session was opened by Prof. Awatif Al-Sharkawy, the Deputy Dean of the Nursing College for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at Alexandria University. This was followed by an important lecture on the global developments titled
“Artificial Intelligence and Nursing”
Presented by Prof. Sahar Mansour, the Deputy Dean of the college for Community Service and Environmental Affairs at Alexandria University.
The research sessions also witnessed significant scientific momentum, chaired by a select group of department heads from the Faculty of Nursing at Alexandria University, which enhanced the exchange of experiences between Iraqi and Arab academic institutions.
The closing ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including Dr. Ali Hussein Al-Jazaeri, the Dean of the High Health Institute in Najaf, and Dr. Mustafa Al-Khaqani, the President of the Nursing Syndicate in Najaf. They were welcomed by the assistants to the president of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University and Professor Dr. Atheer Kazem Abadi, the Dean of the Technical Institute in Kufa, along with Dr. Bazaf Naji, the Dean of the Health and Medical Techniques College at Duhok Technical University, and Dr. Haidar Al-Moussawi, the Dean of Ishtar Technical Medical Institute.
At the conclusion of the conference, the scientific committee announced the closing statement, which included essential recommendations to enhance the research landscape, such as calling for the establishment of scientific cooperation between universities to develop studies addressing current societal challenges. They urged researchers to move beyond purely theoretical work towards field research that relies on real data and precise laboratory tests, emphasizing the need to organize periodic training workshops on modern research methodologies, statistical analysis, and the use of advanced technologies to ensure the quality of scientific output.
It also stressed the importance of creating shared databases accessible to researchers to prevent duplication of research and to facilitate access to information, as well as forming specialized follow-up committees to translate the conference recommendations into tangible actions on the ground.
