📋 About the Department
The department was established in 1992 – 1993 under the name “Warehouse Management Department”. It accepts graduates of preparatory schools (Scientific and Literary branches) in addition to Commercial school graduates. In response to scientific developments in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the name was changed to “Department of Materials Management Techniques” in the academic year 2006-2007. The updated curricula aim to address quality in technical education and achieve leadership in materials management and warehouse operations, contributing to meeting the needs of service and industrial organizations and supporting national economic development.
The department seeks through its modern vision to:
- Achieve comprehensive quality in technical administrative education and training.
- Prepare cadres capable of managing supply chains and warehouse operations efficiently.
- Develop skills in using modern techniques for inventory and materials management.
- Enhance the role of graduates in supporting national industrial and service institutions.

The department aspires to be a center of excellence in providing technical education in the field of materials management, keeping pace with global developments in logistics and its modern applications.
Preparing technical cadres scientifically and practically qualified to work in government and private sectors, distinguished by the ability to execute administrative and warehouse operations with high accuracy.
The department aims to graduate specialized cadres capable of:
- Managing warehouses and stores using modern scientific methods.
- Implementing local and international purchasing and contracting procedures.
- Applying quality control standards for materials and supplies.
- Using computers and specialized software in managing material databases.
The department qualifies its graduates for the following positions:
- Warehouse Keeper: Managing receiving, inspection, and supply operations.
- Administrative Technician: Organizing inventory and financial records of materials.
- Purchasing Supervisor: Following up with purchasing committees and providing organizational needs.
- Materials Planner: Estimating annual needs and determining inventory levels.
