In collaboration with the Department of Pharmacy Technologies, the Sustainable Development Unit at the Technical Institute / Kufa organized a special workshop on the applications of green chemistry in modern industries, presented by:
Assoc Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Mohi Fahad / Head of the Department.
The workshop highlighted the pivotal role of modern organic chemistry in advancing the medical sector through three main axes: design, preparation, and diagnosis.
It also reviewed how computer software and artificial intelligence can be employed to design innovative and safer pharmaceutical molecules (with higher efficacy and lower toxicity), as well as the development of sustainable preparation methods that adopt the concepts of “green chemistry” to produce high-purity, environmentally friendly compounds at the lowest economic cost.
The workshop concluded with a statement on the importance of diagnosing these medical derivatives using modern, high-precision devices to ensure their safety and quality.
