The Dean of the Kufa Technical Institute, Professor Dr. Atheer Kadhim Abadi, held an expanded meeting with the female head and liaison officers of the Women’s Affairs Unit at the institute. This meeting was part of the periodic monitoring of work progress and an assessment of the level of achievement of the unit’s activities and specialized programs.
The meeting included a comprehensive review of the mechanisms for implementing the approved national plans for 2026, presented by the unit’s head, Dr. Lamia Fahim Katran. Discussions focused on key strategic axes, most notably monitoring the provisions of the National Strategy to Combat Violence Against Women, activating the outcomes of the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security (2025–2030), and completing the requirements of the Iraqi National Women’s Strategy for 2026.
His emphasized the institute’s commitment to providing full logistical and moral support for the unit’s activities, stressing the need for these activities to align with ministerial directives aimed at empowering women in educational institutions.
His Excellency expressed gratitude for the unit’s staff efforts in organizing events that raise awareness, support women, and develop their skills, positively impacting the academic environment.
The meeting concluded with a set of recommendations presented by the dean, aimed at improving administrative and organizational mechanisms within the unit, adopting impactful initiatives that serve the institute’s objectives, enhancing women’s role in serving the community, and elevating the institute’s academic and social standing.
Eventually he confirmed that empowering women is not merely an administrative goal but a fundamental pillar for developing our institution and achieving the desired sustainable development.
