Electrical Techniques Department Organizes a Scientific Visit to Al-Haydariyah Gas Power Plant

The Department of Electrical Techniques at the Technical Institute of Kufa organized a scientific field visit to Al-Haydariyah Gas Power Plant. This visit is a core component of the “Station Maintenance” curriculum for second-year students, aimed at integrating theoretical knowledge with practical field experience.

Reception and Coordination

The department’s faculty and students were officially received by:

  • Eng. Miqdad Rasheed Hameed, Director of the Plant.
  • Eng. Haider Ahmed Hameed, Head of the Occupational Safety Department.
  • Eng. Mohammed Abd Al-Ali Sahib, Head of the Electrical Department.

Technical Program of the Visit

The visit included a comprehensive technical agenda:

  • Safety and Operations: The Head of the Occupational Safety Department provided a detailed presentation on the primary components of the gas power plant, auxiliary systems, operational mechanisms, and the power output capacity of each unit.
  • Electrical Infrastructure: The Head of the Electrical Department delivered an in-depth explanation of the plant’s electrical systems. This included an overview of the transformer station, electrical switchgear (boards), and advanced systems for measurement, control, and monitoring.

Acknowledgment and Gratitude

At the conclusion of the visit, Asst. Prof. Hashim Dhahir Mohammed, Head of the Electrical Techniques Department, expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Plant Director and the heads of the Safety and Electrical departments. He commended the staff for their warm hospitality and the valuable technical insights shared with the students, which significantly enriched their academic experience.
