The Dean as a Keynote Speaker, with Participation from Several Faculty Members of the Technical Institute Kufa at the Smart Health Systems Course Organized by Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University at USM, Malaysia.
As part of its strategic steps towards enhancing international openness and keeping pace with the technological revolution in the health sector, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University organized a specialized training course on “Smart Health Systems” in collaboration with Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).
The events of the course took place over two days, from December 10 to 11, 2025, at the premises of Universiti Sains Malaysia in the Kingdom of Malaysia, organized by the Continuing Education Center and the Department of Missions and Cultural Relations at the university’s presidency.
The course was inaugurated by the Assistant President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Ahmad Ghanem Wadai, and the Scientific Assistant of Universiti Sains Malaysia, (Prof. Dato’ Gs. Dr. Narimah Binti Samat), alongside the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in Malaysia, Assistant Professor Dr. Abdul Jalil Mohammed Majid, who praised the efforts made in this qualitative collaboration. Several deans of university formations and relevant department heads also attended the opening.
As part of the course activities, Professor Dr. Atheer Kazem Abadi, Dean of the Technical Institute/Kufa, served as the keynote speaker at a specialized seminar titled
“Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare 2025.”
This seminar represented an important aspect of the Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University delegation, emphasizing the university’s vision in adopting modern technology and the significance of integrating AI applications into educational curricula and practical applications in the health sector.
His participation specifically focused on discussing the future applications of AI in health, showcasing the seminar as a qualitative gathering for experts and academics to discuss the pivotal and growing role of artificial intelligence in the global health sector.
The training course also included participation from Assistant Professor Dr. Riyad Saad Atshan from the Nursing Techniques Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Mudar Sabah Abd from the Autism Spectrum Technologies Department, and Dr. Taif Razaq Majid from the Medical Laboratory Techniques Department. The course covered the latest trends in health sciences systems, methods to improve the quality of medical care, and how to employ modern technologies in health education.
The course concluded with the distribution of participation certificates to the trainees, who expressed their appreciation for the excellent organization and the advanced scientific content provided, affirming that it represents a strategic step towards transferring modern knowledge and experiences to serve the academic community and the health sector in Iraq.
