Continuing with the practical applied activities for students, the Department of Prosthetics and Assistive Devices at the Kufa Technical Institute organized an educational visit to the Warith Dermane Center, affiliated with the General Secretariat of the Hussaini Shrine
Second-year students from both morning and evening studies were accompanied by Assistant Professor Dr. Mohanad Aldhaidhawi, head of the department, along with several faculty members.
The purpose of the visit was to familiarize students with the latest developments in smart prosthetic technology.
Dr. Yasser Sabih Al-Saadi, the center’s director, welcomed the department’s delegation and students, explaining the center’s operational mechanisms and its various departments. He also committed to providing free training for the students during the summer vacation.
It is worth mentioning that the assistant director of the center, Engineer Haider, is a person with special needs; he is a lower limb amputee resulting from a bomb explosion and uses a smart prosthetic limb that enables him to move and transfer easily, thanks to its lightweight design and numerous features, which he explained to the students.
The students showed a high level of engagement and responsiveness to the information provided.
In his concluding remarks, the department head expressed sincere gratitude and appreciation to the center’s administration for their warm reception and efforts with the students, wishing them continued success and giving.
