The Department of Community Health Technologies at the Technical Institute \/ Kufa held a special workshop on the methods for detecting polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) in women and insulin resistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop featured Dr. Rana Ahmed Najm, head of the department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop covered the definition of PCOS in women, along with insulin resistance\u2014its symptoms and causes\u2014and addressed how it is detected and its treatment methods. It explained that PCOS is scientifically known as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), in which the ovaries produce an abnormal amount of androgens\u2014male sex hormones that are usually present in women only in small quantities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regarding the relationship between PCOS and insulin resistance, many women with this condition resist insulin, meaning the body cannot use insulin properly. As a result, insulin levels build up, which can lead to increased androgen levels. The workshop also clarified that treatment depends on several factors, including the patient\u2019s age, the severity of symptoms, and her overall health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
