The Department of Autism Spectrum Technologies at the Technical Institute\/Kufa concluded a specialized training course on <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Antibiotic Resistance: A Global Challenge and the Role of Medical Laboratories in Combating It<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The course was presented by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Assistant Lecturer Zainab Hussein Matighy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The course aimed to raise scientific awareness and enhance the capabilities of laboratory staff in dealing with this growing phenomenon, which is considered one of the most serious threats to public health globally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training included an introduction to the concept of antibiotic resistance, its mechanisms of development, and its spread.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It discussed the factors contributing to the emergence of resistance, such as the irrational use of antibiotics in both the human and veterinary sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, it covered the latest laboratory methods for detecting bacterial antibiotic sensitivity and the role of antimicrobial stewardship in promoting their optimal use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The course concluded by recommending the importance of adopting national policies to reduce antibiotic resistance and enhancing the role of medical laboratories as the first line of defense against this global challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
